1965 Land Rover Series IIA Rental Added in New Mexico

New Mexico Picture Cars has added a 1965 Land Rover Series IIA to its listings through the USA Movie Cars network. The vehicle is located in Bernalillo, New Mexico, giving productions working in the state direct access to a period-correct truck without needing to arrange long-distance transport. Crews filming in New Mexico can contact the network to check details and arrange a rental for upcoming shoots.

Spotlight on this 1965 Land Rover Series IIA

The listing shows a gray four-door truck with matching gray interior. It carries the 109 trim and features right-hand drive with a manual transmission. A spare tire mounts on the hood in safari style, which adds visual interest for camera work. The body remains basic, with minimal switches or trim, keeping the focus on the classic lines and rugged stance.

Producers can use this appearance for scenes that need an unadorned 1960s utility vehicle. The right-hand drive layout offers a different perspective in shots where the driver side faces the camera. Its simple design helps it blend into background traffic or serve as a character vehicle without competing with modern elements on set.

New Mexico Picture Cars and the New Mexico Picture Car Market

New Mexico Picture Cars maintains a growing inventory of vehicles for film and television work across the state. Bernalillo sits close to major production hubs in central New Mexico, which makes local pickups practical for crews shooting in Albuquerque or Santa Fe. USA Movie Cars works with state picture-car sites such as New Mexico Picture Cars to help productions find local picture vehicles instead of searching scattered national listings.

This network approach reduces travel time and shipping costs for productions that need authentic vehicles on short notice. Location managers and picture car coordinators can search state-specific sites first, then reach the national database when a particular make or year proves hard to locate locally. The connection keeps more rentals within New Mexico when schedules tighten.

History of the 1965 Land Rover Series IIA

The Series IIA entered production in the early 1960s as part of Land Rover’s long-running line of utility vehicles. The 109-inch wheelbase version provided extra cargo space while retaining the brand’s off-road reputation. Many examples served government agencies, expeditions, and rural operations during that decade.

Its straightforward construction and four-wheel-drive layout made it a common sight in remote areas worldwide. The right-hand drive configuration reflects export markets where that layout remained standard. Today the model stands out for its simple dashboard and minimal body panels, which preserve the era’s functional aesthetic without later styling additions.

New Mexico Picture Car Rental Uses

This Land Rover fits period scenes set in the 1960s or early 1970s. Its basic appearance works for establishing shots of rural roads or remote outposts. Directors can place it in the background to add texture without drawing focus from principal action.

Commercial and still photography teams can use the truck for lifestyle or adventure campaigns that reference classic off-road imagery. Music videos and branded content shoots gain an authentic vintage element that contrasts with modern surroundings. Event planners sometimes request similar vehicles for themed displays or photo opportunities tied to mid-century themes.
